Didactics
The didactics activity of the Department of Agronomy is very extensive, currently the employees of the Department conduct classes in 17 fields of study out of 35 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. This activity mainly covers the following topics: cultivation of soil and plants, crop production, agroecology, environmental protection, the impact of agriculture on the environment, agricultural systems, herbology, water management in agriculture, pasture, typology and valuation of habitats, protection of natural resources, energy crops, standardization agricultural produce, ecological and precision farming. Recently, the implementation of such subjects as: ecotoxicology, ecology, water in ecosystems, and the impact of climate change on the environment has been started. In total, 56 subjects are carried out in full-time and part-time first and second cycle studies, as well as a doctoral seminar, seven subjects taught in English as part of the Erasmus program and the subject of Agronomy for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
In the years 2009-2013, the employees of the Department of Agronomy conducted classes as part of the pilot e-Agriculture studies, the aim of which was to implement remote education (e-learning) at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, as part of the “Program for modernizing education at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences .”. In addition, in recent years (2010-2013), the staff of the Department coordinated the I.S.L.E Erasmus Academic Networks project “Innovation in the teaching of Sustainable development In Life Sciences In Europe” under the LLP program co-financed by the EU (2011-2013).
